Job Description:
This is a Software Engineer II (Network Automation) position at DigitalOcean. The role is designed to support the day-to-day operations of the team while ensuring high standards of service and quality. The selected candidate will be responsible for handling assigned tasks efficiently, interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders, and contributing to the overall success of the department.

Qualifications & Skills & Responsibilities :
- B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent degree
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts and either have previous experience or have a strong interest in learning and working on software and tools to automate data center networks.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python
- Familiarity with Linux
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containers and/or virtualization, web servers, and databases
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is preferred.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks (Salt preferred, Ansible)
- Good knowledge of code versioning tools such as Git, and accustomed to multi-branch development

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Designing, developing and maintaining software tools/automation for networking infra and systems to help us manage our networks across all of our sites at DO.
- Working with networking infrastructure focused engineers to develop/maintain our network automation and monitoring platform
- Helping to maintain good code quality by providing guidance during code reviews
- Leverage AI coding tools to rapidly prototype and roll out solutions
