Job Description:
This is a hands-on engineering internship at Philips’ Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC) in Pune. Interns are embedded in cross-functional engineering teams working on cutting-edge healthcare products, such as imaging systems, patient monitors, or health informatics solutions.
It is not an observer role — you will contribute to live projects, own real tasks, receive mentorship from senior engineers, and work on real-world medical technology development. High-performing interns often get considered for Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) or full-time roles.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Currently pursuing BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC), Design Engineering, or closely related fields.
- From Philips-selected/partner institutes only.
- 2025 or 2026 graduating batch preferred (consistent academic record, no active backlogs).
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of electrical circuit design, MATLAB, or relevant project management tools (depending on branch).
Other Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication in English (for global team collaboration).
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Assist in product design & development: designing, prototyping, and testing components/subsystems for healthcare products.
- Perform engineering analysis: simulations, stress analyses, electrical/electronic circuit evaluations to meet safety and performance standards.
- Collaborate with software, quality, and clinical teams for hardware-software integration in medical devices.
- Maintain documentation & compliance: engineering records, test reports, and design documents per regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601).
- Identify and solve design/manufacturing issues with data-driven approaches.
- Support project management: track milestones, prepare status updates, and coordinate with global teams.
- Participate in ideation sessions, hackathons, and innovation activities.
