Job Description:
This is a Cybersecurity Intern position at GE Aerospace’s John F. Welch Technology Centre (JFWTC) in Bengaluru. It’s a hands-on internship designed for current B.Tech students who want real-world exposure to cybersecurity in a highly regulated, mission-critical aerospace environment. You’ll support the engineering cybersecurity team in protecting lab infrastructure, networks, and data that power cutting-edge aviation research and development.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Currently pursuing B.Tech / B.E in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related field (preferably 3rd or 4th year)
- Strong academic record
- Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity concepts
- Familiarity with tools like Nmap, Wireshark, or similar is a plus
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Humble, eager to learn, transparent, and collaborative mindset
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Support the team in implementing and maintaining cybersecurity processes across engineering labs and IT infrastructure
- Help with secure configuration of servers, workstations, and network devices
- Assist in asset inventory management for hardware and software
- Review and manage user access rights and access control lists
- Track vulnerabilities, coordinate patching, and maintain documentation
- Help prepare security documentation, SOPs, incident logs, and compliance checklists
- Collaborate with engineers, IT teams, and global cybersecurity groups to support audits and security initiatives
