Job Description:

The Mainframe Developer at HCLTech is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL, while creating architecture documentation and troubleshooting production issues.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Bachelors degree in computer science or related fields
• Mainframe certificate/Training is Must
• Experience: Freshers to 1 Year
• Mainframe Developer – Fresher to 1 Year
• Educational Qualification: BE/B.Tech – Computer Science or related field – 2024 & 2025 passed out Batches Only.(Minimum 70 % is must for 10th,12th, UG & PG)
• Basic knowledge of IBM Mainframe zOS, COBOL, VSAM, files, DB2, JCL is desirable
• Knowldege of Database undamentals
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Good analytical and logical knowledge
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.

Roles and Responsibilities : 

• Application maintenance support, and development on Mainframe technologies.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate within the team and cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Ensure the performance, quality, of applications.
• Write clean, scalable code using COBOL/PL1, JCL programming languages.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
