Job Description:

Qualys seeks a talented Software Engineer to work on its next-generation Platform & Middleware (or data platform). You will join a team of engineers and architects to prototype, design, develop, and support a highly scalable SaaS-based cloud security platform.

Qualifications & Skills :

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or equivalent
• 0–3 years of hands-on experience in software development with React.js (Front-End) and Java (Back-End).
• Strong understanding of Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts, including exposure to AI Agents, OpenAI/LLM technologies, and Machine Learning fundamentals.
• Strong Java React.js programming skills including object-oriented design, prototyping, development, testing, profiling, etc.
• Knowledge of messaging and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with in-memory caching technologies such as Redis and Memcached.
• Understanding of relational databases, preferably Oracle, including SQL query optimization and database design.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases, preferably Cassandra.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and related CI/CD tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Roles and Responsibilities : 

• Co-develop Qualys’ next-generation platform and middleware products.
• Create high-performance APIs, libraries, and microservices that scale to handle 100+ million transactions and terabytes of data daily.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt next-generation technologies.
• Produce high-quality software following strong architecture and design principles that remain maintainable for the team.
• (In related data-platform variants) Engineer services handling millions of transactions per second and scaling to hundreds of terabytes; provide a data platform-as-a-service; drive architecture reviews for scale; instrument Day-1/Day-2 operations; deliver resilient client SDKs; and continuously seek better scaling, availability, and cost solutions.
