Job Description:
This is a Java Developer position in Caterpillar’s Technology, Digital and Data career area. The role involves implementing, maintaining, and supporting agile software development. You will design, develop, and maintain backend services, build cloud-native applications, and contribute to high-quality software delivery in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Any Bachelor’s degree
- Strong experience in Java and related frameworks for backend development.
- Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS (using CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of software development tools, agile methods, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and collaboration with DevOps/QA teams.
- Ability to create design documents, sequence diagrams, and component-level specifications.

- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure code quality and performance.
- Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to ensure smooth CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term fixes.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to existing systems.
- Acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation and optimization.
- Write source code for new applications and enhance existing ones.
