Job Description:

This role focuses on electrical wire harness engineering, primarily within sectors such as aerospace, rail, automotive or heavy equipment. The engineer will work on the design, modeling, and integration of electrical harness systems — interpreting electrical schematics and ensuring that harness designs meet performance, manufacturing, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Skills :

Typical qualifications and skills expected for this role include:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (e.g., BE/B.Tech).

Years of Experience: 0 – 3 Years of Experience

Technical Skills

Electrical harness design and routing, especially with CATIA V5 & ENOVIA.
Strong competency in sheet metal component design and electrical harness modeling.
Ability to perform wire bundle calculation and harness fitment.
Understanding of manufacturing non-conformities and integration of manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of material characteristics, joint and fastener design.
Familiarity with standards like GD&T, and drawing conventions (ASME, ISO, etc.).

Software & Tools

CATIA V5 for harness modelling and EHI electrical routing.
PLM software such as ENOVIA for data management and design validation.

Roles and Responsibilities :

✔ Lead or perform detailed wire harness modelling and design tasks
✔ Review and interpret electrical schematics to inform harness planning
✔ Ensure accurate wire routing, protection selection, and harness integration
✔ Conduct dimensional stack-up analysis and weight assessments
✔ Integrate manufacturing requirements into design deliverables
✔ Perform quality checks, resolve non-conformities, and propose solutions
✔ Create design deliverables in CAD and PLM systems
✔ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines.
