Job Description:

This is a Customer Support Engineer position focused on delivering direct technical support to external customers in an enterprise environment, emphasizing clear communication, task ownership, and efficient case resolution for storage-related issues.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Preferred: College degree with basic knowledge of storage technologies.
  • Required experience: Direct customer support via phone and electronic means; working in an enterprise setting; familiarity with storage components and infrastructure.
  • Key skills: Strong problem-solving and non-linear thinking; professional handling of challenging situations; ability to proactively call customers for issue resolution; adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs); excellent organizational skills for multitasking and cross-functional project execution; minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Additional: Ability to meet case management SLAs; ownership of cases and routing processes; familiarity with Hitachi Vantara products or similar storage platforms is desired.

Roles and Responsibilities : 

  • Communicate clearly and precisely with customers in written and verbal formats, while maintaining accurate, timely records in the case tracking system.
  • Own tasks end-to-end, drive collaboration with other teams, and ensure diligent completion.
  • Analyze, document problems, recommend solutions, and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Work enthusiastically in a dynamic environment, organizing ideas and adapting communication to audiences.
  • Adhere to processes, policies, and company values; act as a team player and role model.
  • Share daily reports before end of shift and ensure no backlog of cases or emails within shift duration.
